Rickenbach, in the Zurich wine-growing region, is nestled in a depression 425 meters above sea level. Lined with vineyards and wooded hilltops in the north, the terrain in the south gradually inclines up to the district of Sulz. Whereas the hamlet of Hintergrüt forms the gateway to the natural agricultural landscape along the Thur river and in the north of the grape-growing region, Sulz is the gateway to the nearby city of Winterthur and, via railway and national highway connections, to the rest of the world. Rickenbach is rural, yet close to the city and small, yet open-minded. Rickenbach is just perfectly situated.
