Anyone who lives or works in the municipality of Elsau loves the naturalway of life in one of the seven villages and hamlets situated in the middle of amagnificent natural landscape and yet in close proximity to the city of Winterthur. Elsau has a lot to offer: two interurban (S-Bahn) train stations, high quality schools, awide range of leisure and cultural activities and a competitive commercial sector. Many of the approx. 3,500 inhabitants are active in one of the 30 local associations, which even publish their own newspaper called “elsauer zytig”. The late Gothic Elsau Church has been renovated in a manner true to the original style and is one of the gems of this municipality. The image apertures designed by the painter Robert Wehrlin are considered a precious rarity.
