The Economic Development Region Winterthur (Standortförderung Region Winterthur) is committed to the development of the city and region of Winterthur as an appealing business and residential location. In view of its two important task areas “business” and “living”, the Economic Development Region Winterthur initiates and supports projects and events and provides appropriate contacts, tips and documentation to business and private individuals wishing to work and/or live in the Region Winterthur.

The City Marketing association was founded in 1994 as a pioneering organisation, financed by the city of Winterthur, businesses and member communities. Due to the increasing regionalisation of economic development organisations, City Marketing needed to also adjust its operations and became the Economic Development Region Winterthur on February 2nd, 2007. The focus was expanded to include the entire Region Winterthur, an area encompassing approximately 160’000 inhabitants.
Due to its public/private composition, the Economic Development Region Winterthur enjoys wide support and functions as a neutral platform for various interest groups and decision makers in business, the sciences, education and society.
