Altikon
The municipality of Altikon is located in the heart of the idyllic Thurtal valley in the eastern outskirts of the Zurich wine-growing region. A diverse recreational area is to be found right on its doorstep near the Thur river. The local inhabitants, as well as visitors and walkers, appreciate the beautiful landscape and the quiet location. The approx. 600 residents are proud of their municipality, as Altikon boasts its own small castle, which was completely renovated in 2002 and presently houses the local administration and some attractive apartments. The municipality of Altikon includes the districts of Altikon, Oberherten, Unterherten and Feldi.
