Illnau-Effretikon is a diverse and interesting city with high-quality infrastructure. It has a wide range of shopping opportunities, and there are numerous education and training facilities besides the municipal schools in Effretikon itself and its vicinity. Those close by include the Kantonsschulen (Winterthur und Wetzikon), which enable graduates to study at university, and the universities and universities of applied sciences themselves (Zurich and Winterthur). The latter are all within easy reach by public transport. Illnau-Effretikon provides excellent road and rail connections as well as attractive residential and business premises.
