Housing market

Winterthur housing market

We all have our own idea of what constitutes a dream house or dream apartment. The diversity of housing in the Winterthur region, usually at a fair price and in an environment with favorable cost of living, is big enough to fulfil most wishes. Formerly industrial areas now feature trendy apartments and sustainably designed housing developments. The mansions and single-family homes situated around the old town and on the slopes of the seven hills of Winterthur give you the impression of living in a park and garden environment. Apartments in the old town are also much in demand. Some have quiet rear courtyards or terraces with a touch of Mediterranean charm. If you prefer combining urban life with idyllic rural living, you can go to sleep to the tinkling of cowbells and wake up to the rooster’s crow in one of the outlying villages.
Winterthur’s retirement and nursing homes offer accommodation for almost 1,000 senior citizens. The elderly also have the choice of living in one of many senior citizen apartments in the region. There are various housing options available for students, too. The demand for furnished accommodation is steadily on the increase.
